Americans have particular training dilemmas not found in Europe. The distances are great and we have no national training center - and routinely, we have no advanced horses to sit on or to learn from. Most of the instruction available is based on translated phrases from European languages, which often aren't even translated all that well and further obfuscate basic meaning.

The Dressage by Design program, of which this video is merely a piece, seeks to codify basic technique into a highly visual method to help riders understand what to move and why certain human motion has such a profound effect on equine motion. Focusing on flexibility is the first ingredient and flexibility basics are clearly presented to increase awareness and range of motion.

"Focus on Flexibility" and "Integrative Riding" (my new 20 page booklet on biomechanics) are available at Crazy Horse Tack.
