In some fashion, everything I have worked hard at in my life has become part of my dressage training.

  • Rhode Island School of Design, B.F.A.
  • Creativity is at heart, learning to be mentally flexible. Focusing on sculptural and architectural environments, I learned to understand and visualize physics & structure.

  • Modern Dance from age 4 through college
  • Physical flexibility and range of motion lie at the root of expression and elegance.

  • Musical Training in Voice, Flute and Piano
  • The rhythmic structure of music provides the basis for meaningful dynamics and expressive tone.

  • Tutoring Children in Art
  • Learning happens best when teacher and students build relationships based on trust, kindness and genuine respect.

  • Graphic Design
  • My marketing work often leads me to work with manufacturing companies, where my task is to explain simply and visually products and services which are essentially very complex.

  • Marriage to a Jazz Musician
  • Successful improvisation of any kind grows out of finely tuned and highly developed senses that augment intense listening.

I have integrated all these skills and awarenesses into a dressage program that builds the horse’s and rider’s skills through a multidisciplinary and holistic approach to training. No matter what challenge my students face, I can approach it from different angles, breaking down what seem like intractable problems into smaller problems that can be overcome pro-actively, using a variety of tools.
